Changing the file type of a quicktime movie?

I have an Olympus digital camera and whn i download my movie clips from it they only run in the quicktime player. I have this on my computer but i want to burn the movies to DVD and then play them on my home DVD player but the player will not play quicktime movies. Can I change the file type of the movies? I have already tried changing the properties so the movies open in another player but Windows media player and Nero Player will not run them. What else can i do?
